Hey folks. Been lurking the site for the last year as I start my life doing woodworking as a hobby. I am looking for someone in the Boise, ID area that has a drum sander I could use this evening to sand down an end grain cutting board I am making for a wedding present. Don’t know if this is exactly the correct place to post, but thought I’d give it a shot. In return I’ll post my cutting board as my first project on the site :)

I don’t know if this will be in time . The Ada County Woodworkers meet tonight at Woodcraft. There is probably somebody at the meeting that has one or knows somebody that does. 7:00 PM

Thanks for the reply Bruce. Unfortunately it would have been too late to hit those guys up at 7 (they don’t usually get done until 9 or later I think). I wound up just trying to be careful with my ROS and going over it several… hundred times to flatten things out. It’s soaking up Mineral oil now, so hopefully it turns out alright!

I just happened to think. I had a bench top sanded flat by one of the large cabinetmaking shops in town many years ago. It was about 2’by 6’ and they charged very little at the time. I believe it was Treasure Valley Woodworking. They probably have a stroke sander that would work on smaller items.
