My girl looked at me like I was crazy when I walked in with this tonight “I was grinning ear to ear”. She doesn’t understand. It was listed as a 13” jointer which made me semi interested at first as it was an odd size for a jointer.

$50 later I came away with an almost brand new ridgid planer.

Hate to gloat but you folks here are the only people I know that could appreciate this.

You brought a gun, didn’t you? That’s the ONLY way you got that so cheap!

Or it was one of those stories about “My husband ran off with his secretary and I’m selling all his junk for cheap!”

“jointers” like that can get pretty expensive. That is a great find.

Now, even if the blades are junk, you saved so much that buying a good set should be painless.

Congratulations on a great find.

Makes me wonder where the seller stole it.

After using it some today, the blades don’t look like they had a single board run through them. After they wear a little they are reversible.

My hearing protection stays on the top of this machine now, wow is it loud.

I picked this up down in your neck of the woods off craigslist yesterday… might not be a “super steal” at $1000 but with the 2 cast iron extensions, mobilebase, beis style fence, extra brakes and inserts and outfeed table it would have been $2259ish new – so it’s a damn nice saw for the price… now to sell my r4511 with incra ts-ls on it to free up space…
