I am thinking about painting my cheap ugly kitchen cabinets and have read about the Rustoleum Cabinet Transformation and the results seem great for most people. I have also read about people buying paint and sealer etc separately and it costing a lot less.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good clear (non yellowing) protective coating to put over paint for this?

So far I have found Minwax Polycrilic and Valspar Clear Paint protector at Lowes. Anyone got any comments on those or any thing better?

Is a clear coat over a modern good quality interior paint necessary?
