I recently moved back to North Carolina after being away for 12 years. I’m looking for a lumber supplier and haven’t been very impressed with the few places I’ve found that claim to sell hardwoods. Do any of you know of a hardwood store in the vicinity of Jacksonville, North Carolina (about 45 minutes north of Wilmington). I’m willing to travel. I’d prefer not to go farther than an hour away, but I will if necessary. Thanks in advance, Lumber Jocks.

Look around the woodfinder site, and give each place a call. That was how I sized up the hardwood dealers near me.

Wurth Wood Group has several locations in NC, but I don’t believe they have a location close to you. I know they are in Raleigh, Greensboro and Charlotte.

When I had my business in NC, my favorite place to get my lumber was the Hardwood Store of NC, located in Gibsonville,NC. (Between Burlington and Greensboro).

Again, not close to you, but if you ever get up that way, they are the best people to deal with and always carries a nice selection of hardwoods.

Even when I moved my business to Myrtle Beach, SC, , I would plan trips to go get lumber from them.

If you ever go, just tell Hill, Jeff, or Cheryl that John Hufford, from sunny Florida said hey; they’ll know ! LOL

Wish I could help with someone closer.

Good luck.

Can’t help with wood but am jealous that you are near some great fresh seafood from the NC coast.
