Yeah, agree with the above – that rust is nothing. Scrape with a razor, put some WD-40 or mineral spirits on it and scrub with a scotch-brite pad and she’ll shine up in no time. Wax and use for years.

Oh, that rust is nothing. That’s just flash rust. It comes off
in a jiffy with a brass brush. You should grab it.

Cast iron is a great material I have machines from the
1930s while the iron may be pitted here and there,
the function is fine. I’ve removed much heavier
rust coatings than is on that jointer.

That is a steal me price ! and that’s only what the Germans call fluff rust not deeply scarred.Eight foot is a nice size too. Alistair

I really don’t need another jointer, especially right now, but if it wasn’t too far from me, I’d pick it up in a heartbeat!
