Topic tags/keywords: kitchen re face

I am re-finishing my daughters kitchen with new doors and an extra cabinet. My question is what is the best way to secure plywood on the side of an existing cabinet, which has a vinyl finish. Cheap cabinets that have that wood look on the finish side of the cabinet. Do I need glue to go with brad nails and what glue works with vinyl. Thanks

No need to glue the panel to the existing one. Used screws to secure it to the posts and some smaller ones in between. If you feel you have to glue it, try contact cement, but remember, it will be that thin vinyl that will be holding it together.

If you are using 1/4 inch to apply a skin, something like Liquid nails panel adhesive and a few brad nails should work. I clamp in any way possible. I think it would be a good idea to scuff up the old surface first.
