Fellas, I’ve got a friend needing a large baseball bat turned. 5 feet long to be exact. I’m only able to fit 40” on mine and I don’t want to have to buy an extention to do the job. So anybody in the Houston area have a lathe large enough to do the job and willing to take this on? Wood type is still TBD. He’s got a guy doing some laser engraving on it, so nothing more than a good sanding would be needed for the finish work.

I can turn long lengths and I have the ash to boot. Now, shipping is the other issue. I don’t know the maximum sizes that can be shipped and I am not familiar with what it takes to ship ash, a particularly targeted wood because of the beetle. These are beetle kill white ash from my property.
PM me with further information.
