Ok jocks I need some help in locating some sanding belts that are 1/2”x80”. Where do you all buy from, I have only found a few places that have them but I really don’t like to buy from dealers I have never heard of. Or if any of you make your own what glue and backing do you use. The one belt I had was old and pulled apart at the joint. I had no luck with 100 mph tape or titebond III with fiber tape. But a little luck with super glue and a piece of backing off of some double stick tape. So and all advice, links or experience is appreciated. Oh the belt that broke was a cloth type.

This is my go to:

You’ll have to check if that have that size, but I’ve been pretty happy with my orders from them.

Thanks I will check them out. I have my local hardware shop owner looking for some so I will wait to see what he comes up with. I really prefer to buy from my local guys before buying online.

I get mine from but I don’t see the size you need. They may be able to make custom sized belts, but I’ve never needed that. You should be able to find them as the Craftsman band saw/sander that I’m assuming you’re putting these belts on was fairly ubiquitous over the time they were being manufactured.

Yeah it’s for craftsman saw and not many seem to carry the size. Hopefully my local guy will come through but his first two suppliers didn’t have or could not get the size in question. Big reds site has them but at 10.50 for 5 plus 8 bucks shipping so 3.70 a piece. That seems kind of high to me but they do have them so supply and demand comes into play.

Have you looked at Klingspor’s Woodworking Shop? I’ve bought belts from there and been happy with them.

Yeah I looked at the site but seems I need to call or email them about it.

I’ve heard these guys are all right to deal with, and they have your size. $11 for 5 of them, I’m just nor sure what the shipping charge is.
