Topic tags/keywords: cedar shakes shingles project ideas

I just acquired a bunch of cedar shakes that were on the roof of my grandparents home. They are 30 years old and are just awesome! Looking for help with project ideas for putting them to use. Give me your ideas.

You can make shelves with a shake roof on the. Do the same for a kitchen island. I made a cedar shake roof over a large bar in a restaurant once and it came out very nice. Good luck.

A few years back a client asked me to do a rustic element ‘treatment’ on one wall in her Mud room.
I used 1/4” thick face brick as a wainscot and a brick molding at chair rail height and split cedar shakes from there to the ceiling.
...just a thought, if you’re trying to preserve your grandparents cedar shakes for the sake of nostalgia.
