I didn’t think my comment about google to you would result in you leaving the site. If you’re terribly offended by my post I’m truly sorry. My intention was not to offend you, only to make an internet search which would be a quicker outcome of knowledge that waiting for folks to post on here.

You mentioned my name specifically. You have blocked me, I’m fine with that. I wanted to apologize if I said something to upset you.

I won’t take back what I said because I believe everything I said.

I hope you stick around.

Hope you don’t mind me poking my nose in here. I agree you can find most anything with a Google search. If we all go to Google for our information then what’s the point of having a forum?

If I get my information from Google then I’m the only person who get to see the answer. If I post on LJ then many get to see the information. I have gained information about subjects that I would never have thought of asking Google for until someone has brought it up in a post on LJ. Often time the answers here on LJ are from woodworkers I have learned over time to trust their judgment as opposed to some stranger on Google search.

Paul, I wouldn’t sweat it. I read your google post and didn’t think it was rude at all. Some people just have thin skin.

It took me a good amount of time to realize that asking questions in a forum is not always about wanting to know the answer but on many occasions it is about mingling with other forum members,a desire to fit in a group,
or to be one of the regulars.
I fully support every newbies(myself included) right to ask any questions no matter how basic they are or how often it’s been answered but if I need to know for example how to mix beeswax and mineral oil,the quickest, most efficient way to get many answers, with reviews /pictures is Searching Google. We can always share our findings with the members here and probably gain a few tips as well.

Interesting apology….

I think that as a group we should try to encourage new members.

Paul- Just seeing this for the first time. I have been off the site for a while and been consumed by other things. I appreciate your apology and realize I may have slightly over reacted at the time. I somewhat agree with distrbd. I like positing remedial questions to spark convo and meet new friends. Lets just forget about this nonsense and move on. Your buddy- Drew

I wanted to reply on your current dust collector question, but I’m still blocked by you. What is the impeller size of the DC your getting? 550cfm I run on my planer 11’ from my collector with a 4” run. I’d ask more pertinent questions on your other thread if I get your permission.
