I am getting ready to build a new tool box (tote). i have been looking on line for ideas and designs but so far all i can find are metal tool boxes or wooden boxes that look like a metal tool box. any direction as to were to look or design ideas would be greatly appreciated

Hey Billy, I’ve got a pdf plan that shows a wooden box with a lift out tray. It does look like a metal box made out of wood though. Have you thought about a carpenters box? You know, the kind thats open on the top and the ends look like the gable end of a house? Sorry for the crapy explanation.

a carpenters box would be fine. i currently have a box that is 2 feet long and about 9 in wide. i work in a wood shop and use it every day. having all my tools organized and easily accessible make life much easer and productive.
problem is that i have out grown the thing. i am looking for an open and easily accessible replacement. perhaps with the ends angled outward to give more room. i just cant find any designs or even photo on the net. am i the only guy in the world who has and makes use of a good wooden tool box. ( or carpenters box or tote)
