It’s not the site, mine doesn’t do that, but I know what you’re referring to, and you have some sort of adware/malware that snuck onto your computer.

very weird Griz. I assume that this is the beginning of the long slide of Lumberjocks, who are going to be looking for a more friendly place to hang out.

If you look at grizz post you might see that activity on the last line is blue with a double line that is the popup. In 7footers post the kid in his signature is lit and in mine father is lit.

In this one liked is lit

Now it disappeared when I edited the post.

I use AdBlock Plus and I see very little intrusive ads such as you are talking about. I agree – it must be on your computer, Grizz. :(

https://adblockplus.org/en/chrome

Try it and see if it world for you. They have it for all the different web browsing systems.

Hi Bob. I have not seen that on mine but have on other projects and blogs. you might have to ask a computer jock to see what does that. you don’t get a pop up on a blue word unless you put your cursor on it. I hate it too, but I would never leave Lumberjocks. I’d go into withdrawal and might not come out!! I have looked at other sites Like Sawmill Creek and it does not work as slick as this on and I don’t think the responses on there are not as encouraging. and.more critical and that is not good for a new woodworker or anyone who has put a lot of time in a project.
Come on Stay with us!!!!!! We like your posts!!!!!!
I get crap advertizing all them time when I’ move my cursor in certain places on the screen. We are captives of the advertizing world. It keeps me active cussing at this tube!!

Cheers, Jim

I am not done. It keeps the site free. It’s hardly the worst thing I have to deal with.

I see the blue underlined text, but if I don’t hold my mouse over it for a couple seconds, there’s no ad. Are you seeing more than that? Maybe Sheila’s adblocker will help you. What browser/version are you using? Seems like you’ve blown your top on this. Calm down, maybe there’s a solution. The internet is full of ads these days.

I do agree with Monte (to a point). I don’t mind ads as long as they don’t interfere with things that I am trying to do. If anything, those “intrusive” types of ads cause me to AVOID the products they are advertising. There are classy ways to get your message across to potential customers and completely obnoxious ways. These companies have to decide which road to travel.

I know what you are talking about but as others have said it’s not just the LJ site. The adblock program for google chrome works well and it’s a free install. Internet explorer is the worst for this sort of thing.
