Topic tags/keywords: planer question dust collection craftsman planer

Looking for a Dust chute (model # 9-23318) for my Craftsman planer (model # 351.217130)

I have looked on Sears parts direct website and entered the part number (9-23318) in and it says

Dust collector chip chute
PART NUMBER: 9-23318

This part is no longer available through the original manufacturer. No authorized substitutions have been identified. If you choose to purchase a new product, please visit www.sears.com.

I called Sears and they told me that part was no longer available. Does anyone have any idea where I can get one?

There is one on the bay for a Craftsman 13” planer. Don’t see a reason why this wouldn’t work.

Can’t you fab something up? Go to HD or Lowes and look in the HVAC section for something you could modify.

That’s Sears for you. Either the OEM is out or the they are out of the Sears replacement which won’t interchange with the OEM part.

I have heard this story at least three times this week. I don’t even go into Sears any longer, unless my wife drags me in there. That is sad. I used to buy all of my tools there but that was back in the 80’s.

Yeah, dhazelton… I may try that if I can’t find one.
