Assuming this vanity is Alder wood.
How do you think it is finished?

Probably an oil.stain or something like Watco. Alder blotches like pine and maple, so the unevenness is a “feature” in this application.

Vinegar, steel wool and tea. Sounds strange, but look it up.

I’m not sure that is alder. Doesn’t look like the alder I’ve worked with.
