Whenever possible, I like to let you know in advance when there will be changes in the community.

You will be seeing some changes in the right sidebar (it will be wider) where the ads are shown. This will help prevent issues we have seen at times with ads overlapping. This should not impact the width of our content areas.

You will also be seeing some double underlined links throughout the community. If you hover over them with your mouse, you will see an ad.

As you all know, running a site costs money and advertisements pay for that. We don’t want to overwhelm the community but are finding ways to balance the amount of ads and their placements. We are also working on
finding the best fit for everyone involved. It’s not a perfect process and there will be discussion and disagreement with anything that is changed – that’s just human nature.

Thank you for understanding.

Well, sounds like the price is still right for my budget, and I get way more than I pay for. Hopefully, you can make more revenue.

so besides these changes that sound cosmetic more then anything else, what happened to the thread where we were asked about what we would like to see as far as additions to enhance the site or maybe not depending on each prsons outlook….but what about all of that.

grizzman, I am still working on that list of requested changes. One by one we will be able to get some of them.

can you tell us what some of the changes will be, it would be nice to see what is coming, and it would give us something to look forward to, and by the way, thank you very much cricket for what you do, its appreciated. a lot of times a written email of message can sound as if someone is gripping, not the case here…

WHAT?? AD LINKS???

Just kidding. No problem. It is all about cash flow. We understand that ads must be present.

I don’t mind hovering over links to see them as long as you have to stop over them to engage them.. Pizzes me off when your only moving your mouse across them and the boxes pop up, then you have to close them to make them go away. That’s a hassle. Please set the hover time long enough so that doesn’t happen.

Regardless of the changes, LJs is still the best site around, and as already observed, the price is right. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the heads up Cricket, as others have stated no biggee but certainly appreciate them being nonintrusive.

Have you considered adding an LJ shop? Would be great to have tools, supplies, and LJ gear available on demand here and assuming deals could be found on your end and too significant of a markup wasn’t necessary I’d certainly do some fund raising for LJs. Know I like to sport my LJ T shirt on the regular.

Might even consider receiving donations of shop made tools in exchange for shirts/hats etc. and sell them at a reasonable premium in order to increase revenue and attain member involvement.
