Topic tags/keywords: tablesaw jointer refurbishing resource question tip repair servicing tools

Hey Guys,

So I made the move from San Francisco to Chicago…put my tools in a POD and sent them cross country. Have great shop space and should be building away, however having a terrible time dialing the jointer and table saw in. Think the table saw needs a new blade and that will help the wood feed thru cleaner. But the jointer…I am beside myself, feel like I have tried everything and sun of gun just doesn’t give me a clean straight cut!!!

Anyone know of a repair guy who is experienced with wood tools and services them on site. Would have to be to Chicago area, I’m in West suburbs town of Westmont. Table saw is a Powermatic 2000 and the jointer in a Grizzly 0490.

Any help would be greatly appreciated…running out of hair to pull out.

Do you have a long straight edge? Probably one of your jointer tables vibrated till it got out of adjustment. Do you still have the book? Contact Grizzly customer service if you need info on adjusting it. Another idea, have you checked into finding any local woodworking clubs? Don’t know of any business who fixes jointers where I live, but a woodworking club would probably be where i would start looking. Some woodworkers are great mechanics or machinists.
