I have a Jet 16-32 drum sander.

I have a bunch of 120 grit rolls and two pre-cut 80 grit rolls. These cost about $12-$15/each.

I also have three draws full of just about every grit of sandpaper made.

On top of that, I have a shelf with hundreds of ROS sandpaper discs.

soooooooooo anyway….........

My roommate decided she wanted to sand out a few scratches in her table.

Since she only “needed a tiny piece”, she elected to bypass both of my drawers and shelves full of sandpaper in favor of something a little smaller.

And by smaller, I mean just the little tapered ends of the Performax 80 grit rolls. You know, those ends that are necessary to fit the strip on the drum. You know, the strips that render the paper useless if cut too short.

And so as to not waste too much sandpaper, she used “just the ends” of not one, but two rolls.

Her heart was in the right place. It’s her hands you need to monitor.
