I got a great deal on some Bessey clamps at Lowes. Apparently, they’re being discontinued there. Problem is, I cant get my new parallel clamp to tighten. when I slide the clamp face against the object and tighten the screw, all the happens is the silver body starts to protrude from the clamp body. See the picture below.
In the above picture, I slid the clamp face all the way against the table top, and started tightening the screw. The clamp never started to snug against the wood – obnly the sliver body moved backwards.
There are 2 small adjustment screws (of a size that wont fit any metric or standard allen wrench size I have) inside the clamp body. I’ve messed with those, but either direction on either screw doesn’t seem to help.
Super frustrating – took a lot of self control not to beat the crap out of it with a hammer … man that would have felt good, but whatever.
Any suggestions? I feel pretty stupid admitting I was defeated by… well….. a $%*(’ in clamp!
