Bottom one looks like a mahogany. I think it’s Brazilian. I get them confused.

Top one don’t know. The only wood I know of that is that black and isn’t burnt is ebony.

Could the top be African Blackwood?.. I see ribbons of brown on the grain. hmm

The bottom looks like same stuff I did my house with , and it was sold as African Mahogany. Very stable wood , was part of a ship load that went to a outdoor jacuzzi factory that went under. Milled 6” x 8 ft t&g for 10 cents a ft. Should have bought another 1000 boards , but hesitated and missed out,
