Sawsmith radial arm saw.

For those familiar with Sawsmiths, this one is in great shape (considering the its age) and comes with a fairly complete set-up. You get:

- The RAS.
- Cabinet on casters with 2 drawers. One of the casters ‘sticks’ when you step on the pedal. You can get around this by pulling up on the table while activating the caster.
- Table with working sliders.
- Blade guard, allen wrench, original nuts and washers.
- Complete documentation. I have print outs of the manual and service bulletins and am throwing in my copy of ‘Fun with a Saw’ (the Sawsmith ‘bible’).
- Extra power cord (the original is starting to wear through and should be replaced).
- New bearings recently installed.

If you’re not familiar with Sawsmiths, check out the Yahoo group ( for more information. Like the old DeWalts, Sawsmiths are cast iron RAS from the late 50s/early 60s. They’re built to last and better than any recent offering from Craftsman. Sawsmiths have dual arbors and variable speed settings which vastly extend the range of cuts and techniques you can use. They’re also able to accept ShopSmith accessories.

Pick-up in San Diego.

I’m also open to trades for a good mitre gauge (I know, long shot at best).
