I’m planning to build a router table extension for my table top. I was originally going to laminate 2 pieces of 3/4 CDX together, glue laminate on top, and frame it in 3/4” maple to provide a means to attach it to my fence rails. Now I stopped at the Habitat for Humanity Restore shop and found a full 1.25” thick laminated table top from a cafeteria table for $1. Do you guys think that would be stable and stay flat with a router hanging under it or should I stick with my CDX idea?

Brace it underneath with hardwood or plywood and it’ll stay flat.
Whatever you use for your table, brace it to keep it flat.
