She has all my wood and metal skills, it would appear. Now if she can fix her car and do some physics, she’d be perfect for me, if I was about 35 years younger. She’d better protect herself from welding burns, though. I personally don’t care about my scars, but if she’s really a model, that could be a detriment. I really admire women who can do this sort of thing. It is very empowering for them. My wife can do physics, but she quilts instead of welding or woodworking. I’d say that is a fair trade.

After watching that Video and going to Her Website, Reading, Seeing her work The Term “Welder” is a Small Part of what She is capable of doing and HAS DONE.

She is a Non Conformist. She Loves doing what She does. Her Products are in Constant HIGH Demand.

Some of Her Theories are Suitable for Who She is and What She Does

From Her Website: (It’s on the Video if ANYONE else wants to go there.)

”While anonymous, mass production is losing its market appeal, I believe there’s a growing movement towards owning things whose origins extend beyond an assembly line. Handmade objects have an inherent history as do the roots of the material.”

“it’s important that my hand show through in each piece. From conception to completion, I’ve dreamt, sketched, researched, surveyed, prototyped, cut, milled, welded, sawed, jointed, sanded, scraped, & finished each and every piece by hand (and ate a lot of dust doing it). I fancy myself a ‘Rosie the Riveter’ of sorts, yet still admire the dainty, chameleon-like qualities of Blanche Dubois (aside from her descent to insanity). (Though I do always appreciate the kindness of a stranger.)”

“I’m a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a background in Sculpture, Designed Objects, & Graphic Illustration. If I was the bragging type I’d tell you that in 2007 I was recruited as the sole artist in residence in a post-graduate program affiliated with SAIC, and had the privilege to work alongside master logger, woodworker, craftsman, carpenter, musician, and all around awesome dude, Mr. Mike Jarvi. But I’m not. So, anyways…”

That’s it, but by no means All.

Now MY Question. ”Would you question if she knows what she is doing?”

Why? Because She’s a Lady? She did something in The Video that made you think She did something Wrong? It’s some kind of a Hoax? AND .. Why would you even ask the question in the first place?

MY Answer to your Question. I Would DEFINETELY NOT, Question If She Knows What She Is Doing.

A Great Lot of Members on Here should be Fortunate Enough to have the Spirit, Foresight, Design Knowledge, Attitude, Abilities, and So Forth, That This Person Has.

EDIT: I forgot about your note on time stamp 2:36.So I went back and had another look. The “Hosts” last about 15 Seconds, then to her. 2:36 is as shown below. It started about 2:31 and went to about 2:48. It’s showing Her Website.

Could I assume that you feel this is some kind of a Promotion for Her Web Site? If so is there something wrong with that? It shows as I’ve typed above and Her Making some of Her Work, Galleries Etc.

I like the way she attacks projects and her “go against the grain mentality”!

My forum topic title has gotten the conversation started. I live in a very white collar area, where most people don’t know what they are doing. For anyone whose read my bio, when we first got married, I was a city boy who would sooner hurt himself with a power tool before accomplishing what he set out to do. She often questioned if I knew what I was doing (she grew up in a hardware store selling power tools, built her own furniture, and made things with her dad). Now I think she sometimes regrets telling me to “get off the couch and get a hobby like woodworking”. Those moments usually happen when a new tool is delivered or I come home with wood.

So to answer my own question, no I would not question what she was doing…but I’d question if I could figure out what she was doing ;-).
