For sale is this Stanley Bailey No.6 fore plane.
This plane appears to be a type 6, manufactured between 1888-1892. It is in excellent condition.

The cutting iron is about full length. It is stamped with “STANLEY PAT AP’L 18.92” and is sharp and ready to work after a final honing.
The lateral adjustment lever is stamped with three patent dates.
The chip breaker is stamped with “L.BAILEY’S PATENT DEC.24,1867”
The brass depth adjusting nut is stamped “BAILEY’S PATENT AUG. 31, 1858, AUG. 6, 1867”
The base casting has the ‘S’ foundry mark.
The base casting and frog appear to have been re-painted.
The knob and tote are in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs that I could find.

This is a very clean and functional example in great condition, especially considering it is 120+ years old.

Check the pictures and ask any questions you may have.

Asking $70 plus shipping. This will fit in a medium flat rate box, so shipping will be $12.35 or less.
Pickup at my shop in Willow Spring, NC is available.
Interesting trades will be considered.

This is a very nice one. I thought about keeping it, but I couldn’t find room in my drawer.

Those are all Stanleys except the No.1 Lie-Nielsen. A gift from LOML.
