We have most of the trim up and I am trying to figure out the base board trim.
I was thinking just 1×6.
The second pic is of the columns leading from the living room to the dining room.
I am doing a standard type 7” mdf crown in in both rooms. It looks very good. Just so you know I am not doing a strict adherence to craftsman.
What are some ideas?

1×6 but planed down so it sets back from the casing, i would probably go to 5/8 but 11/16 would work

So what you are saying is that if I want this to look spot on I should plane it down.
Oh well.
What do you think if the Sears low end table planer?
There is a woodworking shop I will ask what they would charge because it would be done in 10 minutes and done right.
I only have about 100’ of this throughout the house.

Do you think I should try and get a little fancy around the base of the opening to the dining room?

Unless you really want a planer have it done, I have a Sears planer and it works well, it would easily do the job, max cut would be 1/16 followed by a 1/32 finish pass

I had the nice guys at the woodworking shop plane 90ft of it for $20.

Have your say...
