I’m in the process of designing a queen sized bed for my wife and I and would love your input. It’s not an original design, but something based on a design by Jeff Grainger. I plan on using some center supports, but they’re not included in this image. Let me know what you think. The aspect is a little weird, so just imagine the top of the mattress being a few inches above the bottom edge of the middle rail on the headboard. That would make the top of the mattress/box spring combo about 30 inches above the floor. The first picture represents two options for the top rails.

My preference is the second option because it seems to be truer to my perception of G&G style. However, since the bottom of middle rail will be hidden by the mattress, I guess it really doesn’t matter.
