I replaced the belt on my lathe and thought everything was going fine. After putting everything back together and moving the tail stock up and tightening my project into place, the spindle and all kept moving left until the belt pulley was pushed against the side and wouldn’t turn. I tried taking it back apart and following the instructions over and over and over and still have the same problem. Any ideas out there??

Did you tighten the set screw in the pulley? I have that same lathe and if IIRC the pulley should bottom out on a shoulder on the right end of the shaft. Plus, there should be a flat spot on the shaft that the set screw rests on.

Try these things and let us know if that solves your problem. If not I’ll pull mine apart and take some pictures.
