I know that many people use the tags feature when creating a project to mention the types of wood they used. However, many users are either not aware of the tags feature, don’t know that they can use it to mention the wood types used, or just don’t use the tags at all.

I suggest that a new feature is added to specifically ask users to list (or otherwise notate) the wood types used when making their projects.

I often like to come to the site to look for projects made with maple or cherry or whatever. The results are hit and miss since many people don’t tag their projects with wood types. Who knows, maybe the new feature I’m describing wouldn’t really help the situation. It’s just an idea. It’s definitely not a complaint. The site is great. Keep up the great work.

Sounds like a great idea.

Thanks for the idea, Joshua. I agree that this would (hopefully will ;) be great addition.

The tags feature is rally fantastic. Any enhancement like that is welcome, Martin. I’ll toss in my suggestion of adding “What joinery did you use.”

I try to add tags to my projects, but sometimes it is hard to decide which ones to add. I usually add the wood, the type of project, the project name. It would be kind of nice to have a checklist to add the basics, and then a place where we can add our own tags too.

Maybe a pop up “tag browser” Martin?
