I am doing a live wood breakfast bar. The board is 2” thick and is well aged.
Any ideas on how to keep the bark on?

I have built 2 nightstands with live edge and I wanted to keep the bark on them so I masked off the bark (like a container, under and the 4 sides of the bark. The epoxy won’t stick to the tape adhesive.) then soaked the bark with 2 part epoxy until it wouldn’t hold any more. You have to soak the bark and let it cure overnight, then soak it again until it’s solid. I don’t know how long it will last, but I think it will as it makes the bark solid and connected to the wood with epoxy. It’s only been a few months so I can’t prove it will work.

That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
