Topic tags/keywords: venusberg hand powered drill press

Hi, i bought a hand powered drill press from an old friend. It has only one label, “Venusberg”. I also search Google, E-Bay and some German sites, but i couldn’t find any information. If somebody know something about Venusberg drill presses, i’m waiting for any knowledge and if possible, i need photos for restoring it similar to original.
Here is the link for photos:

Interesting machine. It appears to be from DDR. In german a drill press is “Säulenbohrmaschine” or “Ständerbohrmaschine”
A quick search revealed some history: http://www.holzwerken.de/museum/hersteller/venusberg.phtml

I’m pessimistic you’ll find anything.

I have a pre-war jointer by Teichert & Sohn, which was
a substantial German machinery maker. I think the
upheaval in Germany wiped out so much archival
information on things of this nature that it’s probably
a dead end.

You might set up a search flag on ebay in Germany
and Austria so if anything with that label shows
up you’ll be notified and can have a look.

Have your say...
