Just thought I’d let everyone know..

I have a 3 1/4 HP Triton in for repair under warranty with Kreg, they called a couple weeks ago telling me they are sending a new one out because the original in not repairable. Usually Kreg is really fast with shipping so I called and checked, they told me in the next couple of weeks Kreg would no longer be distributing Triton tools, and a new company was taking over. They said they forwarded my info to the new company and they are supposed to send me a router. Let’s hope so.

Part of the reason I chose Triton was because they were distributed by Kreg, if you don’t know Kreg has some of the best customer service around. They always have been excellent to work with.

I wonder who is going to handle distribution now..

TRITON’s are great … when they stay together. A friend of mine has several, and most of them have developed cracks in the plastic body that cannot be repaired. And, they have NOT been used heavily or abused. One was mounted in a table … worked fine one day, the next it was badly cracked and unusable. Out of warranty parts and service on them is outrageous. Maybe that is why Craig has dropped them … too much hassle even having to process the warranty claims.

Fuzzy – I have a few of them (3) and so far so good. The one in question has had heavy use in a table – I knew when I bought it that it would be worked hard. Something with the windings went after about 9 months of use. I haven’t had problems with cracking yet, all are mounted in tables. I haven’t checked out the repair prices yet.
