For those folks in the Rockville, Maryland area there is a meet and greet with Christopher Schwarz on Wednesday, May 8th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Woodworker’s Club. The cost is $10 pp and there will be beer and light refreshments. The beer is from Flying Dog and Brewer’s Alley, so at a minimum the beer should be good!

Here is the description:

Join us in welcoming Christopher Schwarz to The Woodworkers Club for our “Meet the Schwarz” get together. As many of you know, Schwarz has played a pivotal role in reintroducing the lost art of hand tool work back into the modern shop. Through his blog and publishing company, Lost Art Press, and his many books, articles, videos and classes, Schwarz shines a light on the nuances of hand work. He will be in Rockville while teaching his Anarchist Tool Chest class as well as presenting at the Society of American Period Furniture Makers meeting at The Woodworkers Club.

Talk Woodworking with Chris over local craft beers and light fare as he fields questions about projects as well as his new book on campaign furniture and future projects brewing at Lost Art Press

The URL is: http://woodworkersclub.com/classes/meet-the-schwarz/

I’ll be there with two beers in my hand getting out of hand in the back.

Greg

Thanks for the heads up.

So this is open to everyone that pays? Are you a member?

I’m in Fairfax, Va and this sounds interesting so I’d like to try and attend.

May 8th is a Thursday. Is it supposed to be Wednesday May 7th or Thursday May 8th?

I normally wouldn’t comment on spelling, but just in case you’re using this copy for publicity and he sees it, his last name is spelled Schwarz. It’s an unusual spelling in my experience. Wish I could be there—I love his stuff.

Edit: looks like it is spelled correctly in the copy, just not in the topic title and the intro sentence.

Greg, the reason I knew immediately is that I’ve had to look up the spelling several times when trying to find his stuff on the web.

So how was it? Am I right to be jealous of anyone who was able to go?
