The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.

1. America is capitalist and greedy – yet half of the population is subsidized.

2. Half of the population is subsidized – yet they think they are victims.

3. They think they are victims – yet their representatives run the government.

4. Their representatives run the government – yet the poor keep getting poorer.
yet they want America to be more like those other countries.

Think about it! And that pretty much sums it up in the 21st Century.

Makes you wonder who is doing the math.

These three, short sentences tell you a lot about
the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works.

And here’s another one worth considering…

2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What’s interesting is the first group “worked for” their money, but the second didn’t. Think about it…..

3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

Am I the only one missing something?

No you are not.
I have been displaced by legal aliens. We keep raising our quota’s to put people who are born here out of work so companies can get cheaper labor. They have replaced many IT people and continue to.
My foreign co-workers think America is stupid to allow them to come in and take over our jobs. I agree, but the politicians don’t. BTW I am unemployed again while many jobs exist for my foreign counterparts. Some jobs are listed as H1B… so you can tell they don’t want American’s.

In answer to your question, I have no idea why our asshole politicians have rigged the system this way. The only thing I can think of is so they can raid it themselves. It makes no sense. We are headed for a revolution.

Recently NASA did a study on the demise of civilizations and have come to the conclusion we are headed toward a collapse. The same results from a study by an accounting firm.. They predict the collapse even faster, within a few years. So I feel your pain, there’s nothing that can be done other than to throw out the politicians.. vote them out… vote independent since the 2 party system no longer works. These idiots don’t want to solve anything.

My nephew came home after many tours in Iraq… There were no jobs to be had. He lost his wife over it. Now he had to enlist in the national guard full time. It’s crazy.

Very nicely said….It is a very said state of affairs. We need to vote out of office those who subscribe such insanity no matter what political party they belong to.

I think allowing chinese goods into the country. Somehow allowing companies to farm labor to china, who uses the advantage of laxed safety procedures to lower the cost of goods, is ethical. I get it, people like cheap shit. Maybe it’s more in the hands of the consumer.

I just think it’s ridiculous our government continues to let corporations value profit over employees.

As a veteran teacher of 30 years I listen to people who did nothing but sit in a classroom tell me what’s wrong with education and how I and others could do our job better. I just listen because no amount of information could get them to change their minds unless they experience it. I’m sure you’ve experienced that before in your area of expertise.

I find that there are basically 4 types of people . And I’m about to use politically incorrect terms here be forewarned.
1. Ignorant : Not a bad word. I’m admittedly ignorant of how to rebuild a car engine and tons of other things. We all have the stuff we know and the stuff we’re “ignorant” about.
2. Dumb: Some people just don’t have the capacity to understand some things. Not their fault. We all have our IQ limits. No matter how much info is given, it just doesn’t click.
3. Stupid: Smart, informed people who still deny the obvious can only fall into this category.
4. Not stupid. These are the people who are smart, informed and understand a lot of stuff but also realize that unless they put themselves in someone else’s shoes they might not really get it.

There are a lot of stupid people in the world, and it seems to be getting worse. Maybe just saying “why don’t they just fix it?” is a comment of stupid people.

A while back I was looking through my sweaters. I have many that I love and many that I do not really care about. I have this habit of pushing the sleeves up above my elbows to protect the cuffs of all my sweaters. I realized that I have started to ruin the cuffs of my loved sweaters in effort to not ruin them. Thus, I have started to be more discriminate on which sweaters I wear for various activities. I can’t fix the one I got in Italy back in 2001, but I won’t throw it out either, for except the cuffs the sweater is still awesome. So I wear the extra one to work and the special ones to special events. No brainer really, but I had to realize what I was doing to make the best informed decision.

Many people are not self aware, nor do they understand what they are doing which makes things worse. I can’t rewrite time, nor change the current state of my sweaters. I won’t yell at the manufacturers nor my mother for not making my sweaters more durable to fit my life…. And I have so many that I can not purchase any more… but I can change my own habits.

The best thing someone asked me.. is it more important to fight to be “right” or is it more important to show love and compassion and get it in return? We don’t need to be smart or problem solvers.. all we have to do in our part is to not make it worse.. put our Ideals away on how we want America to be.. and accept that we all live here.. we all have different needs and purposes…. and we must get along… and give what we want.. fulfillment and safety.

We don’t… Americans don’t want to.. and that is our problem.
Love thy neighbor is forgotten in favor of hate and fear… and telling others how to live to suit ourselves.
