Hello, Sorry if in wrong place, just wondering if this is
a good deal for a 14” central machine bandsaw($100.00).
I e-mailed the guy and he said nothing’s wrong with it but does
need a new blade and a guide block. Thought about
offering $75. Also he said saw is 4 or 5 years old. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Andy

I believe central machines make mid-grade tools, suitable for a hobbyist, or in other words not high-end but not junk either. It will satisfactorily make most of the cuts that I ever make. For $100, I would get it.

I agree that this may be a good value. I just wanted to point out that Grizzly has a comparable model(specs based) for $425. Although, the Grizzly will be a better design and have a better build quality.

Neither of these will be real strong. Don’t plan on being able to saw 7” veneer slices from some dense chunk of hardwood.

That’s a decent price. Take that band saw.
