Our shop did not own even one drill press. I had a cheapo at our other shop and dropped something heavy on it.

So I have been shopping for a nice DP. Today I managed this Rockwell at an auction. Does anyone have any experience with this model DP. It appears to be a decent drill press. I will include a picture of it. I got a very fair price on the DP. I have not been able to pick it up yet though. It has some sort of foot pedal, but I am unsure what that is or what it does. Sounds interesting and thought someone would have more experience with this model and could provide some information.

Here is a pic:

Shooting from the hip here the pedal is probably some sort of break.

Thanks Shawn, your guess is as good as mine, I have no idea.

The only thing is the auction is down south of us and removal date is no later that 5/9. That means in light of our hectic shop schedule I will likely put off picking up our new arrivals until 5/5 to 5/9 or so.

I also picked up a Unisaw and a 7.5 hp shaper/power feeder. Those two machines were mainly picked up for resale.

The drill press will come in really handy though.

Shawn, I can always count on you for a reply. Have a great day friend…
