Im a new woodworker on a tight budget and small workspace. Just trying to set up shop. Anyone had any experience with the new Jet Jointer/Planer Combo's?

I recently discovered the new JET Bench products and have been pretty interested in them as both a new woodworker as well as a JET Vendor. I have been looking to equip my shop with both a planer and a jointer, so I have been actively researching these new combo tools for the same reason you have. From what I have seen on demos and what I have heard from my tool reps they are decent in the power department but function may be an issue if your primary use is as a planer. Since the unit does not have an infeed or outfeed bed, you run the issue of snipe on the leading end as well as the trailing end of your stock. If your primary use is going to be a jointer it would likely be a good investment. However if you will be using it primarily as a planer your would likely be better served in getting a stand alone planer.
