That’s so sweet a deal… wish I had money, space, and whatever else I need…
That’s cheap…. but he won’t deliver to NJ for sure… so it’s a costly deal…

I’m afraid that I would have to cut a hole in the roof of the shop to fit one of these bad boys! 8-(

I’ve seen a lot of 30” and over band saws for sale at that
price. Their ridiculous size and weight makes them a burden.
I’ve moved a few machines in the 1/2 ton class and while
it’s kind of perversely enjoyable it is also nerve wracking
and a hassle.

I’ve been tempted of course, but considering the moving
hassles and my limited space I prefer to collect smaller,
more specialized machines.

If it’s any consolation, maintenance and repair costs on old
industrial machinery can mount up.

That said, if you can get a band saw with a 20” or larger
throat you’ll find a lot of uses for it.

Mike- I can hear it now as you tell your wife “Honey I need to raise the roof on the garage to fit my new band saw.”

I was trying to figure out how to saw logs on it. You would have to be the kind of person that is going to die where you live. I loathe the thought of moving the machines I have now, with a couple weighing in over the 800 lb mark,

Have your say...
