So I have no idea what this thing I want is called. I tried to find a project to show what it is with no luck. But basically what I am looking for is the plastic/metal insert that is used to hold a small flower in a wooden vase. Anyone know what that is called and/or where to get them? I want to make a set for a wedding gift and not knowing what it’s called I don’t know where to look.

Thanks in advance.

I think they are called florist frogs.

I now know what a flower frog is! But that’s not exactly what I think I’m looking for. The ones I’ve seen are almost like a test tube with a flange on it to hold it on top of an outside holder such as a wood holder.

um, think maybe you think you found it, but I believe you also want what is called in the florist trade a water tube. dumb simple name. It a plastic tube with a little cap with a hole in the top just large enough for a rose stem or whatever to stick down into. I grew roses for awhile, and these things are not sold cheaply in reasonable quantity, but are cheap in bulk. I solved the problem very easily by stopping at a local florist and expressing a interest in the things and he sold me 100 of them for a couple bucks.

Thanks Whiskers – I looked at those but they didn’t seem right for the fancy application I have in mind.

For any vases I make I use a plastic cigar tube.
