My name is John and I happened to stumble across this site while looking for table saw reviews. For years I have been interested in woodworking and have decided to finally take the plunge and start. I have some basic tools, circular saw, miter saw, and a few clamps but I am looking to build out my future shop once my house is built. I am currently working on refinishing a TV a moire to convert it to a wine cabinet for our new kitchen. With the new house I will have lots of projects to work on so I am very excited.

I am looking forward to learning about the craft from the experts on here.

P.S. I am in the Harrisburg, PA area!

Thanks! WOW! There are a lot of reviews. I am debating between the Rigid R4512 and the Craftsman 21833. I have to wait till I move into the new place. Don’t really want to move a 300 pound table saw more than I have too.

Welcome to LJs, I’m new here myself and really enjoy all the advice and projects. I was considering both the saws you mentioned but found more reviews against them than for them. Am in no way an expert but will tell you this, keep an eye out for a used saw, recently bought myself the Ridgid 3660 for $300 off CL. It and the 3550 both had much better reviews than the 4512. And yes they are difficult to move.

Welcome to LJ’s and congratulations on a new house and being able to set up a shop. I’ve been here almost a year and I wish I had found it sooner.
