It been a few days since I posted a stupid question, so here goes guys.

I just ordered a Hitachi finishing nailer. I actually have a lot of use planned for it. Been eyeing it for a long time but bigskytools refuses to put it on sale, and the difference tween their refurbs and new wasn’t enough to bite. So I bought it new.

Now I need nails for it, and there the constant issue of nails for my other pneumatic tools, I think my collection of pneumatic nailers is done. I have had great luck in some cases stocking up on nails from harbor freight, but the finishing nails at the HF are no cheaper than anywhere else. HF Framing nails are cheap and work perfectly in my Hitachi framing nailer as do the brads I’ve bought from them, but if they can’t compete in price for finishing nails there is no use making the 120 mile round trip to buy them from them.

Anyone know a really good source to buy pneumatic nails mail order? Amazon not good. Bigsky has great prices but they never have anything in stock, so they useless, and they have pretty high shipping.

I’ve done my research, spent hours looking on the web, but haven’t found anything really good, but maybe someone out there knows something I hope. Don’t limit yourself to just finishing nails, cause I have the other nailers.

If the HF nails work well for you why must you drive 120 miles? Register online with HF and you’ll get percentage off coupons and sale prices mailed to you on a regular basis. Just stock up on what you need when you get a 20 or 25% coupon.

+1 to the coupons, it’s surprising sometimes what you can use the coupons on.

The only stupid question is the one not asked.

If you have a HF 60 miles away, you must have contractor suppliers and lumber yards close by. They all sell nails for pneumatic nail guns.

Stop by a local cabinet shop and ask them where they get their supplies.

I just go on ebay. Nailers get stolen or worn out and guys
are stuck with nails they don’t need. I have a big box of
nails from a t-format nailer that gave up the ghost and
could not be repaired.

Anyway, with a little foresight I’ve found I can usually
get that sort of stuff shipped to my door affordably
on ebay. There’s a pneumatic supplier near me
but honestly I don’t like to buy from them because
all they have are big costly boxes that would take
me years to go through.

Have your say...
