So I am divorced and I get my kids every Friday evening till Monday evening and during the school year I take them to school which is in the yr own there mom lives in, which is 40 miles away…so this morning on my way back home I spotted a truck with his hazard lights on and a man walking about 50 yards past so I flipped around and went back and picked him up and turns out he ran out of gas so I took him to the gas station and let him get a gas can and gas and took him back to his truck. The man thanked me and offered me money which I politely declined and told him we’ve all been there I did it because it was the right and decent thing to do. So he said ‘well if you won’t take it then I’ll shove it under your seat here where you can’t get it to give back’ and shoved it under my passenger seat. So I followed him to make sure he made it to the gas station OK and then went home. I got the money out and turns out it was 40$!!!! So me and the wife went to Tulsa and HIT THE PAWN SHOPS lol and I found a 10 in Kobalt sliding compound Miter saw for 59$ total. It’s missing the dust bag which I would have taken off for the shop vac anyways and other than that she’s to work fine!!!! So for one good deed and 19$ I got a Miter saw!!!! So now my two questions are …..can any one point me in the direction of a good set up thread or site so I can fine tune this thing!!!?? Or if anyone has it could you inbox me? Now second question while looking today I found ano older bench tip Delta band saw…. The motor was a little smaller probably a 1/3 horse but what really intrigued me about it is that it had a red blade guard and I think guide that could be easily adjusted and it went up to probably 7 or 8 inches!!! This kinda blew me away cause I haven’t seen a bench top that could go that high (I haven’t looked a lot tho to be honest) but it was 99$ dunno if it was worth it or not any thoughts? I have the model number 29-185 I think it was….Also there was another bench top band saw I seen that was green and red (not a grizzly green. But a brighter green) and it was…..triangle shaped?? It was older as well. But it looked like the blade would run in a triangle rather than an oval. It was square to one side. Anyways it was 36$ any advice on this band saw as well? Anyways thought it was a pretty awesome day and wanted to share!!!! Thanks all!!!!!

I have this saw. I quite like it. It even came with a decent 60 tooth blade. The manual lays things out the adjustments pretty well. I looked for a PDF of the manual and couldn’t fine one. But I still have my paper one and if you like I will scan it. I probably should anyway in case I lose my paper version.

Have your say...
