Topic tags/keywords: wood humor

Well I had some time to kill at my local auction house the other day and $100 burning a hole in my pocket, so I did when any red blooded human would do I spent it on wood of course but I think I got a bargain. So 4 truck loads and 7 pallets later and $85 spent here is the haul(s). So far I have found Maple, Curley Maple, Walnut, Mahogany, Cherry, Brazilian Cherry, Poplar, Oak, and Beech.

Funny part is my 17 year old son needed $10 to go eat and asked for some money and I told him I had some woodI need taken down to the shop wanna trade?. He looks at me like he is the master negotiator and goes $15. I am like sold. He sooooo did not look in the garage first before quoting a price, I think he is planning my death now….

Nice score. What kind of lumber did you get?

I am still going though it all but most of it was 4/4 and some 8/4 every thing from 4” -12” wide up to 40” long all s4s already. So far I saw 20 pieces of 8/4 oak about 40” long 470 pieces of 1×2x 40 maple/ curley maple (perfect for doing guitar necks which i would of been laminating anyway)

Seems like a great haul, especially for the curly maple and cherry!

Well your 4 hour and $85 investment should keep you off the street corner and out of trouble for a good long while. ;-)

Nice Gloat, You suck. :-)

Awesome. I would have bought it on the spot.

I live in southern Indiana and it is the local Auction house. They get it from Kohletter (sp) woodworks. Which is in the same town. it’s all stuff to small for them

Nice find. Thanks for sharing. I dream about that. Wood is outrageous around here.
Be careful about storage. Black widows would like that. I kill several every year in my shop. Got nailed by one once. Night in the hospital. Bad.
