Topic tags/keywords: dremel trade fortiflex powertool wood make a woodcarver happy

I Just broke my dremel in the middle of a rely Nice carving session. Sigh, and i realy cant afford a New one at the moment, but then i was thinking a bit, and i thought maybe there is some way i can get one on lumberjocks by trading. And i found this forum, hadent noticed it before.
I bought the one i broke used, and its a old one of the smaller series, so the warranty is ofc void. And i have just started up several interesting Projects using it, since it have just been lying in a Box since i got it. I only had time to finish the black calla carving and start a couple more, this one was starting out great. And i was getting so into it :)

So if anyone have a fortiflex lying around unused. Im interested in trading for it. Hopefully one that is for European sockets, but if not i can get a adaption socket.

I can offer several Things, i have a decent Stock of woodcarving-irons(unused) i can make handles for them and sett them up so they are razor Sharp With the basic irons for a beginner sett.(equaling the prize of the fortiflex and the shipping) Il even throw in some beginner Things to carve on in pine or silver Birch.

A assorted selection of materials, the amount and types we can agree on so the one im trading With and myself are both happy, i got silver Birch, yew, elder, ash, pine, and a few other that i cant remember the English names for. Some spalted pine and silver Birch if its interresting. Its all cut splitted and dried by myself, and its all ready to use. Raindeer horn i can also get small amounts of.

Or a combination of theese 2.

Or a half fabricated Project if its interesting, i have several types lying ready, cabinets, reliefs and some other Things in the right pricerange, its all pieces included, the machinework done, only the carvings are left, they are drawn on the Wood and ready to carve. All hinges, pluggs or Locks thats needed is included depending on the Project. (they range in price from 100$ to 15000$, but i have several in the lower range category that are wery Nice)

I would realy like one of theese fast and i just cant afford one right now, so im willing to be flexible and stretch a bit if anyone can help me out. I just want to finish theese powertool Projects i had planned and had sutch great fun With. :) So open for suggestions.

How did it break? Is it a problem with the motor or….? Maybe it can be fixed?

I just ran it to hard, and it owerheated, the brushes went haywire and the back end basicaly melted. It a old moddel of the 300 series. THats wy i was interested to get the biggest promodel.
And i would be willing to do a decent trade for it. Im trying to plan the building and start of my own bussines in the fall, at the same time i got a gf from Usa, so my economics are stretched in all directions :) Thats wy i thought a swap would be good. Im willing to trade the bowl im working
on in the pics for a Fortiflex even :) if i could get one fast. so i thought it was Worth a try With so many woodworkers in here :)

Thanks for the reply Mark :)

A suggestion . . .

A few years back I sent my Dremel back to the factory to be fixed. They wrote back saying they didn’t make that model any more and had no parts. They offered to sell me a brand new Dremel at half price (their cost I assume) which I took them up on. You might want to send yours to Dremel and see what happens. Its dead and gone anyway so what can you lose except some postage.
