I just dug out a tool from my garage that I haven’t used for over 20 years. Didn’t even know it was there. Anyhow it is a very heavy cast iron Craftsman Bench Top Shaper/Router (model 149-23910). Tool runs good and will clean up nicely. Problem is I have no collet. It was made to take 1/2” or 1/4”. I have been to eReplacementparts.com, my usual “go to” parts dealer. They say the machine and parts are obsolete. I checked Craftsman direct, no luck. MRC doesn’t have any. Circle Saw is out and there is not one on Ebay.
Does anyone have any spares for their machine I could buy? If not, can anyone suggest someplace I might find collets. If I had one to see what it looks like, maybe a machine shop could make me one.
It’s a good machine and I hate to scrap it because of something as little as a collet but without a collet, it is worthless. Y’all have solved problems in the past so try to figure something out for this problem. Thanks
