Today I reached a new milestone in my woodworking. It’s probably not worth celebrating, but it’s still a milestone that’s easy to see.

The milestone: The first emptying of a full bag on the DC (G0583Z).

For about a year I had the DC hooked up to a Shopsmith MKV with only a lower blade guard. Most of the sawdust went on the floor or on me. In that year I filled it up only about half way. Since I got my G1023RLWX, I have filled up the other half of the bag in about 5 months.

Like I said, it’s probably not worth celebrating as it doesn’t show how much good work I’ve been doing, only how much waste material I’ve collected, it’s something that is very visible in the shop to gauge how long you’ve been doing something.

That’s great. No more sweeping or, alt least, not nearly as much.
I’m still fighting it. The lower guard is more trouble than sweeping.

Gene I agree. About the only tools that get the DC treatment are the router table, band saw and the RAS. Sweep and blow.

Get a planer and you’ll be emptying that bag 3 times a day!
