I know I believe I know where I put it, but I’M not sure I realize where I thought I put it is not where it is.

That explains my misplaced LVLA Jack iron that I honed while standing at my work bench. I have no recall of ever taking it anywhere after I was done with it. I honed my smoother, waxed it all up and reinstalled the iron. I was going to do the same with the jack iron but it was gone. There is no one in the house to play tricks on me but me.
My wife has searched high and low and she can’t find it. So if the mystery ever unfolds I will report back.
My next item to do is go have an electric hat put on me.

I would laugh if I hadn’t done similar things. In my case I attribute it to old age.

Well I am playing the back nine but I have had this sort of thing happen to me for a long time. That is one reason I have a very sharp chip breaker on one of my planes.

I am not sure, but I think it is JACK’s fault. After all, Dr. Daniels does such things… trust me… I used to know…

Mr. Johnnie Walker used to do it to me, way back in the day. No longer keep company with Mr. Walker, so that excuse is gone.

Well, I keep Jack around so I have someone to blame it on, but truth be told, I don’t think its him, at least not all the time.

I hear ya’ Bob, I gave up on Dr. Daniels as it was just too expensive for his house-calls. I found a lay-person in Mr. Jim Beam, who was more than willing to cater to my extreme needs. Mr. Beam is a nice guy…

I stopped associating with those folks many years ago: we were just getting too friendly. But I remember the times we had. Oh, the stories I could tell!

Is your smoother, by any chance, also an LV—as in the BU smoother?

And doesn’t that plane take the exact same blades as the LV LA jack?

Just sayin’ ...

Buy another blade. When you find the original, you can grind it to a different angle.

My smoother is a LV 41/2. I don’t grind blades. I burned up a bunch of old ones trying to master it but I gave up. I lack a lot of talents. Can’t even play hide ‘n seek.

Check the garbage. I had something wind up in the garbage the other day. It fell in there and I never heard it drop.

If something has to be lost, it might as well be sharp (don’t ask me how I know).
