table saw in madison area...

I hate to suggest the obvious but check Craigslist. I regularly (every day) check the Craigslist postings for Green Bay, Appleton, Wausau, Milwaukee, Sheboygan, UP (MI), and Janesville. And every week or so I check Chicago.

To date I have purchased: 10” Target Wet Tilesaw (Chicago), 16” Laguna Bandsaw (Appleton), Jet 1014-VSI Mini Lathe (Milwaukee), DeWalt (1950’s) Radial Arm Saw (Chicago), and a Hawk Scrollsaw (Madison). When you find a great deal 100-150 miles seems pretty insignificant.

I’ve been watching for tablesaws for a co-worker and have suggested several over the past few months; General Contractor’s saw, Delta Uni-saws, Powermatics (66’s & 2000’s). Plenty of Rigid Contractor Saws, Bosch portable saws (model 4000), DeWalt saws, and ShopSmiths are seen regularly too. I see a ton of Craftsman stuff, but I will not recommend any of it to you. If you have time (could be a few days or weeks) I am confident you will find what you are looking for.
