Topic tags/keywords: teak finishing advise

Hey Guys,

So a friend gave me some Teak wood. He gave me 4- 8/4 X 4” X 2’ pieces, 1- 8/4 X 8” X 4’ piece, and 1- 8/4 X 6” X 4’ piece. I took the 2 of the 4” pieces and re-sawed them down to 5/8” thick and I want to make a jewelry box. Since I have never worked with Teak I was wondering how you guys finish Teak?

Thanks

Danish oil. With the exception of shellac, just about nothing else with stick to it. Use acetone on the joints prior to glue up.

-- BELT SANDER: Used for making rectangular gouges in wood.
