I want to make an Arbor Bench for my moms yard. The one problem I am having is figuring out how to attach the bench portion to the 4×4 post. If anyone has pics or any knowledge on this please get in touch with me. I have included a pic below as an “idea”. Not 100% set on the design. Thanks

Carriage bolts could work; you could use screws from the inside of the bench so they wouldn’t show (make sure they are not too long :-) ; you could mortise and tenon the frame into the post…you could even just nail ‘em on…
