Rather than buying some cheap tricket when I travel, I like to pick up some wood so I can than make something interesting to remind me of my trip.
I’m going to be in the Black Hills of South Dakota in June and I am looking for a source of interesting wood. It could be a log section or some milled lumber. Ideally it will be wood that is unique to the area, but if not unique at least grown in the area.
Can’t be too big since there’ll be 4 of us travelling in a Honda CRV. Maybe 3-4 feet long max.
If you know of anything in that area I’d love to know so I can check it out. Any insight would be appreciated.
