It’s spring! I insist!

I don’t care if it is 34F and there is a 20mph wind blowing in right off the North Pole. It’s Spring! Therefore I’m going to do spring things.

I managed to crank up the riding mower and mowed the back yard. OK, I just mulched the leaves that have been blowing back and forth around the yard, but I did it anyway.

Then I cleaned and filled a hummingbird feeder and hung it where I can watch it from the kitchen window. If there is a hummer in the area not froze to a twig, it can have a very cold drink.

Next, I’m going to fill out and mail my tax forms. I’m too poor to pay taxes, but they have to be filed in the spring, so I do. The fact that I have a space heater blowing on my cold feet under the desk has nothing to do with it.

Everybody dig out their shorts and tshirts, it’s spring!

My mower wouldn’t make it through the snow right now. Spring by name only here.

Ah yes Monte, I remember winter/spring in Philip. Once we had to dig down through 4 feet of snow to grease the windmill.

The only sign of spring here is the flyers from big box stores with big pictures of lawn mowers or mosquito traps, lawn tables & chairs all on sale, other than that , it’s winter as usual here with the snow and wind and subzero temperature.

Gamy, since I only put my flannel lined Carhartts away last week and dug out the regular Carhartts, I am
not going looking for my shorts and Birkenstocks. The snow finally melted off the garden spot, but it is
still too muddy to rototill. I have not swapped the battery from my snow plowing tractor to my lawn
mowing tractor yet and do not want to tempt fate or mother nature. But if we keep thinking positively
and double checking like Robert A. Heinlein’s cat, we might find the door into summer. I think Mother
Nature might just skip spring this year.

I have a sinking feeling that we will have about five days of spring with a week between days and then summer hits.

I have started seeing signs of spring in this part of Texas. I love it!

Cricket,
See, I told you it was prettier in your part of Texas. (Grin)

Spring just hits us a little sooner but so does the heat of summer. (smiles)

Just another beautiful spring morning in Missoula, Mt

If you look real close, you can see our neighbors lab “Lucy” setting there waiting for spring to arrive. She is
hiding in the snow drift where the lawn was yesterday.

Proof that it’s spring:

The weather warmed up, the trees dumped their pollen, and I have my first case of hayfever for the year.

I don’t care, it’s Spring!

hhhachooo ‘scuse me.
